STUCK AT THE GATE
Literary offices read hundreds of scripts and inevitably literary managers and dramaturgs fall in love with one or two or more along the way. We beg. We plead. We want to see this play produced. But alas, it gets STUCK AT THE GATE, no opportunity for production in sight… But our love doesn’t wane. Ilana Brownstein, Polly Carl, Liz Engelman, & Raphael Martin share excerpts from plays that they feel never received proper notoriety:

Bay of Fundy by Sherry Kramer

The Etymology of Bird by Zakiyyah Alexander

The Further Adventures of Suzanne and Monica by Alex Lewin

What to Listen For by Kathleen Tolan

These scenes will be followed by an audience Q&A which will include the online audience through #newplay.

If you are in D.C., join us for STUCK AT THE GATE  in the Molly Smith Study at the Mead Center. Admission is FREE; please contact the Arena Stage box office at 202-488-3300 to make a reservation.
