I think there are still hundreds and hundreds of white plays and comparatively fewer plays by women and comparatively even fewer plays by women of color. And men of color write plays, too. I feel like we have to just bust down some serious walls. For so many grant applications there is a box—a dance box, a theater box—for so many conversations those boxes totally exist.
