This annual event is a calendar staple for many attending the Edinburgh International Festival, creating the opportunity for 200 UK and international producers, programmers, and creators with a passion for international and intercultural performance to come together, make new connections, and sow seeds of collaboration, exchange, and partnership for the coming year.
The breakfast, facilitated by our experienced ambassadors, will help you promote your projects, discover new works and connect with new people and potential work partners. An e-directory of participants will be distributed in advance of the event to facilitate networking.
This year, the discussion will focus on the role of festivals in promoting, fostering, and inspiring the work of artists and culture-makers on the margins with speakers including Ruth Mackenzie, Artistic Director of Holland Festival and Fergus Linehan of Edinburgh International Festival. What responsibility do cultural managers and arts practitioners have to provide visibility for those on the peripheries of cultural industries? How can festivals contribute to this aim?
In addition to watching the livestream at HowlRound.TV, you can watch the livestream on World Cultures Connect from 10-11am (BST) on Thursday the 25th. Get involved on Twitter with the hashtag #VAPB2016.
This event will also be a chance to meet selected participants of the World Cultures Connect Creative Skills Training Programme, which aims to increase artists’ and creative practitioners’ awareness and knowledge of the platforms and provide tools and opportunities for communicating and promoting their work to local and international audiences and partners. The programme forms part of the Culture Works Connections project linking arts practitioners
